Once again, there is no place better on the net than 13 Moons. I have been let down by other websites time and time again, but you folks never fail to go above and beyond. I have waited up to four weeks for services that have not sent my correct order but with 13Moons I receive a perfect order within 2-3 days, and a native of NY I feel so good supporting my state's economy. Bless one and all at 13Moons and may the goddess smile on you always!

Celtic Green Man Plaque

This Celtic Green Man measures 4 inches. Made of resin and hand painted in greens and yellows.

God of the Forests, Earth and Groves featuring Celtic art. From the dawn of agriculture comes the ancient Green God, the Vegetation Spirit who dies in the Fall and returns in the Spring. Found in many cultures around the world, the Green Man is often related to natural vegetative deities springing up in different cultures throughout the ages. Primarily it is interpreted as a symbol of rebirth, or renaissance, representing the cycle of growth each spring. Some speculate that the mythology of the Green Man developed independently in the traditions of separate ancient cultures and evolved into the wide variety of examples found throughout history.

Parallels have been drawn between the Green Man and various deities. Many see the Green Man as being connected to many heathen gods such as Osiris, Odin and even the Christian Jesus, as well as later folkloric and literary characters such as the Green Knight, John Barleycorn, the Holly King and Tammuz of the Mesopotamians who is thought by some to symbolize the triumph of Green Life over Winter and Death.
