I began ordering from these people's wonderful site a short time ago. It seems that I continually find something more to purchase. Their selection is great, service and shipping is fast, packaging is considerate for my items including the 'posters'. I love this place and plan on staying w/them. They even actually write on the invoice a personal note, not just automatically copied onto it. I plan on telling everyone about this store and that a gift card would be excellent for me!

Bronze Pan Statue

Pan with his pipe seated on moss covered stone within the forest. The Greek God Pan is perhaps the most familiar form of the Horned God/Wild Man.

He was the goat-hooved and lusty king of the Arcadian forest, the original Horned One. His Neolithic cult was later subsumed in the ecstatic wine-rituals of Dionysian Greece. This seated representation shows the god horned and seated upon a rock. The first tragedy (in Greek-tragoidos meaning "goat song") told the sacred story of his death and resurrection. Pan is the quintessential woodland god, demonized by the Church to diminish his powerful influence upon rural folk across Europe.

Statue stands approximately 9 1/2 inches tall and is crafted of cold cast bronze resin.
