Goddess of the Hunt and Wild
Artemis is the Olympian Goddess of hunting, wilderness, the moon and wild animals. She is also known as the Goddess of Childbirth, Virginity, and the Protectoress of girls up to the age of marriage -- her twin brother Apollo was similarly the protector of the boy child. Twin children of Leto and Zeus, together the two could also bring about sudden death and disease as well as healing -- Artemis targeted women and girls, Apollo men and boys.
In ancient art Artemis was usually depicted as a girl or young maiden with a hunting bow and quiver of arrows as she is here in the extraordinary statue.
Details of Artemis Statue
She is scantily dressed in a decorative sarong at her waist and matching bodice. She wears wrist guard plates, shin guards and a small shoulder covering as she steadily holds her woodland bow. She stands barefoot alongside a doe as she holds her woodland bow in one hand and reaches into her quiver for an arrow.
She is made of cold cast bronze resin with handpainted details. There are accents of blue on her bodice and sarong; accents of green on her bow and the ground she stands barefoot upon.
Your statue has a felt bottom to protect table top surfaces and arrives to you in a gift box.
She stands approximately 9 and 1/2 inches tall. Crafted of cold cast bronze resin (bronze powder in quality resin) and has hand painted details and highlights.
