Ceridwen
Celtic Goddess of Fertility & Imagination

Ceridwen was an enchantress in Welsh medieval legend. Medieval Welsh poetry refers to her as possessing the cauldron of poetic inspiration (Awen) and the Tale of Taliesin recounts her swallowing her servant Gwion Bachwho, who is then reborn through her as the poet Taliesin. Ceridwen is regarded by many modern Pagans as the Celtic goddess of rebirth, transformation, and inspiration.

Details of Your Statue

Finely robed and cloaked, Cerridwen kneels before "Awen" and stirs the brewing mixture which sits upon a fire. She is accompanied by a sow, hen and cat. The detail from her ornate necklace, dress, cloak, and animals to the Celtic adorned base are exceptional. A lovely art you will love to display in your home.

Cerridwen is a Great Earth Goddess associated with:

  • Eternal Cycle of Life, Death, and Rebirth.
  • Harvest Time
  • Cauldron of Wisdom and Inspiration
  • Sow
  • Intiation
  • Transformation
  • Shapeshifting
  • Summer Solstice

Awen is inscribed upon the cauldron in this statue. Awen is a Welsh root meaning breeze. Translation could mean breath of inspiration, divine spirit’s wind, blow, inspiration, muse, breath of energy and/or freshness.

The statue is 11 1/2 inches high. Crafted of Cold Cast Bronze Resin with hand painted details.
