Elegua is an Orisha Spirit that holds the power over luck and misfortune. He represents the beginning and end of life, and the opening and closing of paths in life. He is said to be present in all places at all times.
Elegua, the messenger of the Orishas and guardian of the doors; without him nothing can be accomplished. He allows your prayers to reach the Orishas. Elegua is sometimes known as the trickster, as he likes to play jokes on people. He enjoys candy and toys. When you call upon him, remember to give thanks.

Elegua stands on a platform of earth, in his colors of black and red on his headband, neckplate and bead anklets. Red also adorns his cowrie shell necklace and he wears more cowrie shells on his arms, at his wrists and around his waist as well as his sword. He has a key attached to the cowrie waist chain and is holding an Elegua Head which is decorated with red and black beads.
